Initial Consultation and Treatment

This appointment is required for all new patients, unless you choose the ingrown toenail only assessment. Please remove any nail polish before your appointment so we can complete your full treatment. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes early to complete any necessary forms before your appointment.

Here is what you can expect at your first visit.  At FIT Healthcare your foot care nurse will:

• complete a focused medical history
• assess your circulation, nerve function, and mobility
• address skin pathologies (e.g., callus, corns, cracked heels, redness, itchy or dry skin)
• evaluate nail abnormalities (e.g., ingrown, fungal, thickened, or discolored nails)
• provide a nursing diagnosis, and a personalized plan of care tailored to your needs
• educate and advise on how to best care for your feet at home

Your treatment begins with a gentle cleanse of the skin and nails. We ensure proper trimming and filing of the nails, addressing any discomfort or pain you may have. This may include the safe reduction of thickened nails and skin, as well as expert guidance on preventing future complications. Our approach also involves the careful removal of thickened calluses, the reduction of cracked heels, and the alleviation of painful corns, restoring your feet to a healthy, smooth state. We end your experience with a soothing application of warm towels to your feet. Next, we nourish your skin with premium medical-grade lotions and nourishing nail oils, leaving your feet soft, rejuvenated, and pampered.

Our skilled nurse will carefully assess your ingrown toenail(s), checking for any signs of infection or complications. Based on this assessment, we will recommend appropriate treatment options tailored to your needs. If a severe infection is present or the ingrown toenail requires more advanced care, we may refer you to a primary care provider or specialist for further treatment. After your initial consultation, if necessary, you can easily book a follow-up appointment to ensure your recovery.

Exclusively for returning patients, this treatment provides comprehensive care for all common foot concerns in a single, thorough appointment.

This treatment addresses ingrown nails, fungal or thickened nails, calluses, corns, cracked heels, and dry skin. Included in this appointment: professional trimming and filing of all nails, including ingrown toenails; safe debridement of calluses, corns, and thickened nails; moisturizing and smoothing of cracked or dry skin; application of nourishing, premium-grade lotions and oils; warm towel treatment and relaxing foot massage.

Express Medical Foot Care Treatments

Exclusively for returning patients, these appointments are designed to address specific foot concerns with precision, safety, and efficiency. Each treatment is carefully tailored to your needs, allowing for effective results in less time.

If you prefer, you can also review the options on your own and choose the treatment that feels right for you – it’s completely up to you!

Express Medical Foot Care Treatment – Basic Nail and Dry Skin Care

This treatment includes professional trimming and filing of nails with gentle removal of lightly dry skin. Podo Expert lotion applied.

Express Medical Foot Care Treatment – Ingrown Toenail Relief 

This treatment includes precise trimming and filing to relieve pressure and discomfort from ingrown toenails. Gehwol fluid applied for added comfort.

Emergency Treatment

Our nurse will provide emergency foot care exclusively for existing patients. This appointment is for addressing a specific, urgent issue such as a sudden ingrown toenail, cracked heel, or any new issue that requires immediate attention.

Additional Treatments 

Swift Therapy for Plantar and Common Warts

$200 for initial, $175 for follow-ups, Plus HST

Onyfix Nail Correction System – Treatment for Ingrown Toenails 

$70 per toenail, plus HST

Onyfix is an evidence-based, non-invasive product that enables effective and pain-free treatment of ingrown/involuted toenails, as well as various nail curvatures and dystrophies. Our Nurse is specially trained and certified to apply the system to the proximal end, or point of attachment of the nail. As your nail grows out, so does the Onyfix, allowing your nail to regain a natural shape, eliminating the ingrown or curved nail. Onyfix is Class I Medical Device, has been tested for patient use and safety, a superior alternative to surgery, and pain-free. It is suitable for diabetics, those with blood circulation problems, seniors, children, and safe during pregnancy.

TOE FX – Clear Toe Therapy – Treatment for Fungal Toenails 

$90 per treatment,  Plus HST

ClearToe Therapy is a Class 2 medical device and is approved by Health Canada as an effective treatment for toenail fungus. Using Red LED Photo disinfection technology, ToeFX is designed to clear up the yellow, crumbling appearance of toenail fungus. Depending on the level of infection in your nails, you may require 10-12 treatments, spaced two weeks apart. Once you have completed 10-12 treatments, maintenance treatments every 8 weeks is recommended to ensure the fungus does not return. Please note, this treatment is available to all returning patients. If you are a new patient, you must book an initial assessment first. Treatment options will be discussed at your first appointment.

PCR Fungal Nail Testing

$60 per test, Plus HST 

Do you think you have a fungal nail infection? At FIT Healthcare, we offer advanced molecular testing to accurately identify the specific fungi causing your toenail fungus. It’s simple – We collect a nail clipping or nail dust, place it in the provided sample envelope, and send your sample to a lab in Hamilton, On. It’s accurate – Detect the presence of toenail fungus with 95% accuracy using our Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology, which pinpoints fungal DNA for precise diagnosis. Its fast – No more weeks of waiting or uncertainty. Within one week of collecting your sample, you will receive a complete report with details of all pathogens found.
